Our program is an exciting new economic development initiative to promote the development and expansion of high-technology businesses across Dane, Jefferson and Rock County. Following is a brief overview of the initiative:

  • Zones are effective for 10 years.

  • $5 million in income tax credits has been allocated to each zone.

  • Tax credits will be made available to high-technology businesses locating or expanding in a designated Technology Zone

 
The assistance provided through the Capital Ideas Technology Zone Program, coupled with other local and statewide business development tools will continue establishing the Capital Ideas Technology Zone as a location poised to capture increased high-technology business and knowledge-based employment growth.
The Capital Ideas Technology Zone’s targeted industry clusters:

  • Food Processing

  • Industrial Machinery Automation

  • Information Technology

  • Instrument Manufacturing

  • Plastics

  • Transportation Equipment

These industry clusters, combined with the tri-county region’s infrastructure and technology support networks, create distinct business development and investment opportunities to enhance and diversify our regional economy.
